Application for Services
Day Habilitation supports are offered in the communities of Cobleskill, Schoharie and Middleburgh at ‘site based’ facilities and throughout the county through ‘without-walls’ supports.
In New York State, when an individual reaches 18 years of age, he or she is assumed to be a legally competent adult and able to manage his or her own affairs. Guardianship is a planning alternative that enables parents, relatives or a corporate guardianship program to act on behalf of the individual. Legal Guardianship can only be appointed through the Schoharie County Surrogate Court system.
Medicaid Service Coordination
Established in March 2000, this unique program is designed to assist individuals of all ages (infants to seniors) in gaining access to necessary or desired services appropriate to the needs of the individual
The Schoharie County ARC Residential Services Program offers a variety of residential alternatives in community based settings.
Student Transitional Education Program (S.T.E.P.)
The Student Transitional Education Program offers young adults who are transitioning out of school real life work experience in a community setting.
Schoharie County ARC’s Supported Employment Program currently provides employment support services to over 90 individuals with various abilities. Our program, New Pathways, works cooperatively with state and local agencies to ensure a continuum of quality services for the individuals we serve.
Support services including transportation, Friendship Club, Self Advocacy, In-Home Respite, Free Standing Respite
and Residential habilitation.
Vocational services including Toe Path Industries, commercial business services, redemption center and rehabilitation services.
